The show, performed at the Ventnor Fringe Festival, featured Revelation Tarot and the Book of Revelation – Zeussed, together with the display of the ‘Last Supper for Christianity.’

Court of Moral Ambiguity

Each card contains a description of a morally ambigous act covering four categories (suites): home, money, leisure and work. The severity of the act increases with the value of the card. Once the three rounds of exchanging cards are finished the winner is declared as the player with the highest value cards remaining in their hands.

Sins of the Mind

Through the confessional for cognitive sins Prophette is offering absolution from modern sins in the form of cognitive bias. Both the website and the installation play with the idea of cognitive bias, to get people to admit to these biases and “absolve” them of their “sins”. The idea is to poke fun at this over-hyped area of discussion which reached an apex with the success of Daniel Kahneman’s Thinking, Fast and Slow.

Tarot for Fools

Bob Prophette’s Tarot for Fools is based on the Book Narrenshiff by Sebastian Brant. A book first published in 1497, capturing the many ways we can display our foolishness. In Bob’s Tarot for Fools you are not led on a fool’s journey. You will not meet a Magician or a High Priestess, you will not emerge from the Hermit’s cave to feel you have understood the balance of life. You will not delude yourself by thinking you have understood anything or can really know anything. Instead, you will remain with the humility you were born with.

Metaphysical Lottery

The Metaphysical Lottery was a spin off from Prophette and Shaman Metaphysical Bookmakers which featured in a number of summer festivals and was a feature of the How the Light Gets In festival – the Hay Literature festival’s Fringe music and philosophy off-shoot. The stand used a modified UK National Lottery stand and sinage, replacing Metaphysical Lottery
