Threads – The Tao of Bob

From the author:

The Tao of Bob is intended as a handbook for the Knights of the New Order (KoNo). KoNo are an anonymous group of people who wish to look at the world differently. The book is set out a series of short poems. These serve as reminders to the Knights about how they can perceive the world differently. In reading this book you have not read this book.We are part of a universe that is expanding. There are few answers to the question ‘what existed before’. But it seems obvious that the answer to that question lies in the question ‘what will we do when we have the power to destroy the universe’. Eventually, when change has slowed and we have nothing more to achieve we will push the restart button and the universe will cease to exist and another will be created to take its place. This book will be re-written. It is already written in the stars. Hopefully, next time, there will be fewer typos.

From the Publisher:

The Tao of Bob is not just a book—it’s a riddle wrapped in poetry, sprinkled with cosmic musings, and served with a wink. Framed as a handbook for the mysterious Knights of the New Order (KoNo), an anonymous group of spiritual adventurers, this text invites readers to question everything. But, of course, you haven’t really read this book, even if you think you have. And what you take away from it will depend on what you already think you know—or don’t.

The structure is a series of brief, thought-provoking poems, offering reminders for KoNo members (and curious readers) on how to embrace new ways of thinking. The philosophy? Irreverent yet profound. Poking fun at New Age spirituality, self-help tropes, and humanity’s relentless quest for meaning, The Tao of Bob explores themes of existence, power, and cosmic absurdity. It even offers a playful speculation about the universe’s inevitable destruction—because, naturally, when we run out of things to do, we’ll just hit the restart button. Hopefully, the next version will come with fewer typos.

Is this book a guide, a joke, or an existential prank? Yes. The Tao of Bob taps into the idea that meaning is slippery, wisdom often absurd, and self-improvement possibly overrated—but worth a laugh along the way. It’s the perfect read for anyone who enjoys spiritual satire, loves to dismantle pretentiousness, or is simply tired of being told how to find inner peace.

Whether you take the Knights of the New Order seriously or not, The Tao of Bob offers an entertaining invitation to think differently—or at least pretend to.
